The GPS Ear Tag allows you to track and trace your cattle over long distances, even in remote areas without mobile coverage. They are the size of a standard management tag and can be tagged using a normal applicator. The reusable GPS ear tag is powered using a battery and integrated solar panels.
Long battery life
The GPS ear tags are powered using a battery and integrated solar panels.
Easy to apply
The GPS ear tags use industry standard applicators and female parts which make them easy to apply.
Q
How strong are the GPS ear tags?
A
The GPS ear tags have a robust design and have been tested under extreme conditions.
Q
What's the price per tag?
A
Pricing information can be foundhere. The costs for the GPS ear tags are upfront whereas the costs for package are ongoing.
Q
Do the GPS ear tags use 3G/4G?
A
No, the GPS ear tags send their data using LoRa. Only the antenna needs connection to the internet and this can also be the homestead's.
This is perfect for small/medium properties to cover up to 8-10 km radius around the antenna (roughly 30,000 hectares or 75,000 acres).
Off-grid
This is used when you don’t have a power source for the antenna at an ideal location for radio coverage or you might want to track cattle on a different block.
Moveable antenna
The moveable antenna is perfect if you want to move the antenna with your herd.
Your own network
The network allows connectivity in remote places. Only the antenna needs connection to the internet either through a homestead router, 3G/4G sim card or satellite internet. You won’t need coverage from a telco out in the paddock for mOOvement to work.
Are you wondering how good the LoRa coverage would be for your property? We can do a radio mapping analysis on your property to see how the coverage will look like. Ask for more information.
Installation
Set up the network easily with detail instruction video's. Need assistance? We provide professional on-site installation services. Ask for more information.
Common questions
Q
Are there costs involved for operating the network?
A
No. Costs for the operational network (e.g. data and monitoring) are covered by mOOvement.
Q
What is the reach of an antenna in kilometres?
A
The antenna has a reach of 8 kilometres, line of sight. Thick forestry and hilly landscapes have a negative impact on the signal.
Q
Can I use the network for other applications?
A
Yes. The LoRa network can also be used for water monitoring, fence monitoring, etc.
